| Appraiser Comments: | it is not possible for me to determine whether or not this painting is authentic by looking at the images you have forwarded. if it is, it is quite valuable. if it is a reproduction (many were made) it has little value. you should bring this picture to a good gallery or art dealer near you so it can be inspected. get at least two expert opinions. assuming it is authentic, we compared your image to two similar paintings by moses that were sold at major auction houses in 2003. one picture sold for $30,000.00 and another for $38,000.00. the figures i used below are estimates assuming this painting is authentic. grandma moses was born in 1860 and died in 1961. she often painted on board and masonite. if you find out that the picture is authentic and you decide to sell through auction, ask for a written contract with a reserve price before the sale and compare more than one auction house. |
