She has been an avid collector of Chinese and Japanese antiques for over 40 years and has been dealing in Antiques for 35.
She grew up in London England with a family of Antique Dealers and Jewellers so has long been involved in almost all aspects of the antiques world.
Her inventory includes 19th Century to 50's Modern, Oriental Art and Antiques and an extensive line of fine vintage costume jewellery including Dior, Haskell, Sherman and many other well known designers.

| A Personal Note From Valerie |
I have been buying and selling fine late 18th through early 20th century antiques for almost 40 years now . My career began in London England where I grew up in a family of jewellers and dealers in fine art and antiques . My passion for antiques developed into a business for me when I moved to Canada many years ago, and over those years , my inventory continued to evolve . I sell an eclectic array of inventory ranging from early 19th century ceramics ,glass, home decor items, accent furnishings, lighting elements, art glass, Murano Glass, French art glass , Asian antiques and art, Victoriana, lithographs, etchings and other art works ,to early and mid 20th century items in the same lines. I also deal with some more contemporary items of all kinds .These days it is most important to be versatile and keep up with current secondary market trends. In the realm of vintage items ( also a passion of mine ) I deal in fine vintage designer costume jewellery, vintage accesories such as wallets, bags, and scarves etc . Having been in this business for decades now, I have evolved with the times, and where I no longer carry certain items, the knowleddge that Ihave acquired over that time frame is still current today. I constantly upgrade my personal data bases and resources and have cultivated a network of wonderful curators, gallery owners, fashion experts and artists . All ofwhom are generous with their knowledge when needs be . I continue to learn ( as do all professionals ) I am a regular contributor to the Upper Canadian Showcase , Canadas premier antiques journal, author of All That Glitters, the only values and reference guide for Sherman Jewellery. I am guest speaker for various clubs and organisations, teach a series of courses through the Kitchener Public Libary, and have just begun my 4th season with Rogers TV . I have appeared on CTV Province Wide, Good Morning Canada , City T.V Breakfast Television and other CTV programmes. So as you can see, this is not just a job for me, this is something I have dedicated myself to .

| Cleaning of Antique Glass and China |
| Wherever possible avoid the use of lemon or orange scented detergents. These products contain citric oils as a grease cutting agent which, over time can pit and etch the surface, especially on glazed items which may already have surface wear. Save the lemon for the pots and pans.With very old items use warm not hot water. Severe temperature changes can " shock" and cause cracks and sometimes complete breaks. |
